"Wine, Wolves & Wonderful News” – WCC’s Second Annual Holiday Party at the Waccabuc Country Club Brings in Close to $20,000!

On Thursday, December 3, the Wolf Conservation Center once again hosted a sold-out audience of 130 supporters at what has become a highly anticipated holiday fundraiser.  This year’s event was called “Wine, Wolves & Wonderful News” in celebration of the fact that the WCC now has three important breeding pairs at the South Salem facility, and is expecting a plethora of pups this Spring!

Atka, the WCC’s Ambassador Wolf made a guest appearance, and the honorees for this year’s event were the core group of dedicated volunteers – many of whom have been with the WCC from its earliest days.  A video featuring them, their work, and their passion for the mission of the WCC (also aired on Lewisboro TV) was on view during the celebration (many thanks to Matt Heineman and Henry Wolfe for its creation!).

“As with last year’s event, we were very careful to keep costs down and the ticket price reasonable,” explains WCC Executive Director, Deborah Heineman, “so that every cent of every ticket or silent auction item purchase would go directly to support our education and conservation programs.  We reached out to the restaurants and vendors in the Westchester community for donations – and once again they came through for the WCC – in fact we expanded both the number of sampling tables and the number and scope of auction items over what was offered last year.  Their generosity is what makes this event such a success, and I hope that everyone who cares about the WCC will make a real effort to patronize the restaurants and stores that participated – this event would not be possible without them!”
