Endangered Mexican Gray Wolves Celebrate Earth Day Birthdays

Blog Collage Rosa Diego

Two of the Wolf Conservation Center’s most famous Mexican gray wolves, Diego and Rosa, are celebrating their b(earth) days!

Mexican gray wolf Diego is the oldest wolf currently residing at the Wolf Conservation Center, but you wouldn’t know it just by looking at him! Full of life and known for his handsome features, Diego is a favorite of visitors and webcam viewers alike.

Born at the Wolf Conservation Center in 2008, Rosa was part of the first litter of Mexican gray wolves to be born at the WCC!

Since then, Rosa has welcomed many pups of her own – ten in total! Luckily Rosa’s children are fully grown so she’s able to spend most days relaxing and enjoying the company of her mate Alléno. Three of her adult daughters still live “at home” though, so Rosa often needs to serve as peacekeeper. Calm, collected, classy – Rosa is a role model for us all!

Happy birthday to these two essential lobos!
