Introducing our newest Ambassador Wolf, Kinari!

Kinari, a black wolf, looks over at the camera with her head slightly tilted. She is laying on a rock.

The WCC's newest Ambassador Wolf, Kinari is a gray wolf who was born on April 12, 2025.

Chosen by our incredible community of supporters, Kinari means “twinkling star” or “moonlight”-- a name that beautifully reflects her bright spirit, fierce personality and growing presence in our pack.

Red wolves and Mexican gray wolves are not considered permanent residents of the Wolf Conservation Center, as they are active participants in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Saving Animals from Extinction (SAFE) program. As part of this program, these wolves may be relocated to other facilities, requiring the WCC to make automated adoption reassignments. In contrast, our Ambassador wolves, Nikai,  Silas, and Kinari will remain at the Center for the entirety of their lives, serving as enduring representatives of their species.
