Thirty-six years ago, a new chapter in wildlife conservation began with a homecoming unlike anything seen before. The first captive-bred red wolves were released to the wild!
REJOIGNEZ LE MOUVEMENT DE LA SEMAINE DU LOUP ROUGE !
In recognition of this milestone anniversary, the Wolf Conservation Center invites you to celebrate the seventh annual Red Wolf Week!
Starting September 10th, we're enlisting Wildlife Organizations, Zoos, Advocacy Groups, Businesses, and individuals like you to come together with one common purpose – to raise awareness for the world's rarest wolf, the red wolf.
Help us increase visibility for endangered red wolves, their importance and plight, and our efforts to recover a species on the brink of extinction. All week long the WCC will share interesting red wolf facts, activities for kids, scientific webinars, ways to take action, and more!
Free Webinar
Join the Wolf Conservation Center on September 14, 2023 at 6 pm ET for an informative webinar about the historical perceptions of red wolves across their ancestral range. Sunny Murphy, the WCC’s Research Associate, will discuss cultural perceptions of wolves and how these beliefs have impacted wolf populations along the eastern United States.
Conservation is as much about people as it is wildlife, so it is imperative that we understand the roots of a person’s belief system in order to better inform our coexistence and recovery efforts.
A recording of this webinar will be available for viewing in our bibliothèque de webinaires scientifiques après la fin de la semaine du loup rouge.
